Private detective on the Internet. The 21st century is the century of the development of the latest information technologies. It is difficult to imagine modern people without mobile phones, laptops, tablets and other modern means of communication and information transfer. People began to actively use bank cards, store information and electronic media, conduct financial transactions via the Internet. Worldwide electronic progress has given impetus to the emergence of a new type of fraud – cybercrime or crimes of electrical computers, systems and computer networks.
Modern forensic scientists studying this topic in two directions. The first direction – the computer is a means and object of encroachment. In the second direction, the object of the encroachment is information that is in a computer or other special devices, and the computer is the means of committing a crime.
The forensic characteristic of cybercrime is that the crime is committed with the help of computer technology. The operational-search activities of the police also take place with the use of computer technology. The specificity of this type of crime is that the crime may decrease in one country, and the object of the attack will be in another.
Information security is regarded as one of the main tasks of national security. At the same time, information security includes the protection of both an individual citizen and the state as a whole.
The problem of cybercrime is relevant for Ukraine. Many of us remember the cyberattack with the Petya A virus. The Petya A virus blocked access to the hard drive on the computer.
The scammers demanded funds to restore access to the hard drive. Other countries also suffered from this cyber attack: Romania, Spain, Poland and others.
So, we see that in order to combat cybercrime, states should actively cooperate. Namely, it is necessary to start developing criminal international legislation, regulate procedural legislation (at the international level) in order to more effectively investigate cybercrimes, receive, transmit, investigate and present electronic evidence, taking into account international borders.
KibeCrime is a relatively new type of criminal act. However, it is constantly being improved and developed along with the development of information technology. Countering cybercrime requires effective international cooperation.
